Thumb-struck

BusDec2014This guy in the red cap (bottom of sketch) was standing right in front of me on the bus, but not looking at me as I sketched. I studied the scalloped shapes of his thumb as he gripped the pole.  Sketching while being jostled on a lumbering bus makes my commute entertaining. These sketches were roughed out with pencil and drafted in marker on the bus, then colored later with watercolors.
